Some friends from work and I have made it a bi-annual tradition to take a weekend (once in the spring, and once in the fall) and head to northwest Arkansas to make good use of their hilly back roads. We packed good tools for the job: a 700-hp supercharged C6, a Shelby GT500, a heavily modified SS convertible, a GTI, and my E90 M3.
Here are a few pictures from this past weekend:
And here's our route from Saturday:
If you live anywhere near the area, and haven't yet sampled these fantastic roads, I highly recommend it.

Nice! I was hoping you'd post some pics from this. Drive, eat, drive, etc as I remember you saying. Any noteworthy restaurants? Had to be some good stuff along that route!
We should talk about you picking up some color matched reflectors to get rid of that amber... I changed mine in literally 30 seconds per side. They're so out of place...

To clarify I mean other than the cliff house, which does look awesome. But when I think of Arkansas mountain woods, I like to think there are places there truly off the beaten path (you know, but not in a deliverance sort of way).

Yes, the reflectors... if there was a good clear option, I'd have already done it, but I really don't like the "wart" of the color-matched ones on lighter cars. They blend in so much better on darker ones.
The food at the Cliff House was fantastic. Eureka Springs has some good restaurants as well, but if you're wanting off the beaten path, I came across this after our trip. Looks great, we'll have to hit it up next time.

Wow you aren't kidding! Arkansas House looks legit.
I agree with you that even the color-matched reflectors are less than ideal on cars that aren't blue/black, but I think they're still the lesser of two evils. That amber I could not stand. If I ever have to repaint that bumper I'm going to get rid of those things entirely.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking. Get enough rock chips so I need a repaint, and have them fill the holes for the true Euro look.

Hey man, where are y'all out of? I'm in the Russellville area, and would love to drive with you and your friends. I used to drive a 600hp C6 Z06, but since I had my daughter I drive a BOSS 302.

I think we could make that 40 mile drive more like 400...

Nice rides! Congrats on the future Jalop. We're from Tulsa - would be fun to meet up with you and other Opponauts in the area for a drive sometime.
I keep up with the Tulsa Caffeine and Gasoline group as well. Ever make it over to Hallett for a track day?

Thanks, it will be a fews years, but I can't wait till she's old enough to enjoy autos as much as me. Next time your down in central Arkansas hit me up (I'm literaly 15min south of Clarksville), and I'll do the same if I head up to Oklahoma.
No, I've never been been to a Hallett track day (honestly didn't even know there were in any non circle/dirt tracks that close to me), but I would love to someday. I'll also look into the Tulsa Caffeine and Gasoline group.
